Why are these inventions game changers?
What makes these inventions special?
  1. You may have seen tall wind turbines owned by utility companies in California and other states turn very slowly and yet produce vast amounts of electric energy.
  2. However, when water moves slowly in a stream or river, today, it is not used to produce electric energy using conventional electrical systems.
  3. In our patented inventions, large wind turbine blades are replaced by compact, slowly-turning water turbines to capture energy from low-velocity streams.
  4. In our patented inventions, slowly-turning water turbines produce electric energy, when coupled with gearing and electrical systems designed to work with slowly-turning wind mills. While the water turbine is immersed in the flowing water, the electrical systems float above the waterline.
  5. Finally, the inventions make use of bridge columns, seawalls or boat side walls to attach the turbine of appropriate size to produce electricity from moving water.

First patent: US 8,459,020, March 24, 2012

Wave and water energy converter mounted on bridge supports
Highway bridge supporting structures that stand in large bodies of water are usefully employed in a novel manner in this invention to inexpensively extract energy from the water under the bridge using new and established apparatus. Alternate energy producing systems from water waves, currents and tides suffer from cost disadvantages incurred in designing and erecting expensive structures that hold them firmly on the ground under the water against fierce wind and water forces. This invention ingeniously uses existing or new bridge structures for mounting water-borne-energy to electricity conversion systems at much reduced cost. The invention will make water energy conversion systems more affordable and will turn existing and new bridge supporting structures into dual-use systems that can not only support bridge decks above but also produce useful renewable energy from the water below; today, bridge structures are not used in this manner.

Second Patent: US 8,733,093, Aug. 10, 2013

High-efficiency wind power generators used as hydrokinetic energy converters on bridge and other structures
In this invention, high-efficiency wind power generators are mounted on floats that are attached to bridge and other structures for generating electricity from hydrokinetic energy in water waves, currents and tides without submerging the wind power generators in the water. The use of bridge and other dual-use structures substantially reduces the capital cost necessary for installing this system to generate electricity in small as well as large amounts. Today, the systems for converting wind energy to electricity are far more advanced and efficient than existing systems for converting hydrokinetic energy. This invention could produce energy for water-transport vessels as well as for electric utilities.

Third Patent: US 8,863,511, March 14, 2013

Wave and water energy converter mounted on bridge supports--this patent is a continuation-in-part of  above patent 8,459,020

This is a low-cost, ingenious, high-efficiency energy producing system from hydrokinetic energy in water waves, currents and tides. Cost advantages are due to the use of existing bridge structures to mount the water energy converter to withstand fierce wind and water forces.
